This second volume includes words, phrases and ideas garnered from children older than those who inspired volume one. For this volume I perused many cards and letters. My mom kept all my letters as I did hers. Many stories were delightfully shared. I also drew upon correspondence with my sister, my in-laws' and my beloved friends.I learned that a child often speaks the same way I do when I begin learning a foreign language. Tenses, verbs, pronouns, and genders are off. For an example: "we've go got them." Though I think I am speaking correctly in a foreign language I really sound like a child to the ear of a native speaker. This surprised me with insight into what is primary in terms of speech.
