Excellent Book

After following the 7-day diet plan offered in "The Food Doctor Diet" book (by Ian Marber), one is to follow the "Plan for Life". A number of recipes in the "Plan for Life" are offered in the first book but a lot more are offered in this book. There are a number of things to like about this book but here are just a few. This book has a very unique layout, not offered in many cookbooks, which expedites the whole cooking/prep process. Most cookbooks offer a list of recipes categoried by food type (meat, poultry, side dishes, desserts, etc.). This book organizes them by meal type, i.e., breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. In addition to this, the meal-type sections have a 2-page overview of how to assemble a meal with a few ingredients (for example, up to 5 ingredients) to meet your nutritional needs. In this book, most of the recipes are scaled to two persons. Finding a cookbook that does that automatically is difficult, as most are scaled for four to six persons. Most importantly, this book has cut out the detrimental foods in the recipes that have been linked to many diseases, illnesses, and weight problems. How many times has one heard the statement "_____(eat, drink, etc.) in moderation"? This statement is so subjective if someone indulges themselves on a daily basis. What is moderation? Every other day? Every month? Every six months? It's better to be more specific about what foods are good for you and why. This book provides recipes for meals that are good for you. Period.
