The Energy Bus , an international best seller by Jon Gordon, takes readers on an enlightening and inspiring ride that reveals 10 secrets for approaching life and work with the kind of positive,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Energy bus is a very powerful, useful book. I find it hard to read self-help, motivational books, but the way that this one follows a story made it very engaging and easy to keep reading.

Cannot Get Too Much of This Kind of Insight

There are some great reviews below, I am doing this one both for my own notes, and to flag the book for those that follow my reading. I've been looking over around six books on "positives" and this is clearly one of the top ones. We cannot get enough of this kind of insight, especially since most of us have been trained from birth with the war, scarcity, competition metaphor. This is a double-spaced fast read. I recommend it be read along with Focus on the Good Stuff: The Power of Appreciation and A Complaint Free World: How to Stop Complaining and Start Enjoying the Life You Always Wanted, both of which I have also reviewed. CEO Take-Away: Managing the Energy away from negative and toward positive is a big part of your job. The book has an excellent story to open, and I am learning that the story, not "just the facts" is much more powerful in getting others to receive and embrace new ideas. + Everything happens for a reason, make the most of it. + The ones who most need help are the most closed off. + Love life, live in the moment. The 10 rules: 01 You're the driver 02 Desire, vision, and focus TOGETHER 03 Positive energy is fuel (negative energy are the brakes) 04 Invite others to SHARE your ride 05 Don't waste energy on those who do NOT want to share your ride. 06 No energy vampires (people whose negativity will offset) 07 Enthusiasm attracts and energizes 08 Love your passengers with time, listening, recognition, service; bring out the best in them 09 Drive with purpose 10 Have fun. The book ends with a self-survey and ideas for action. This book at this price at this time is a VERY good value.
Applies to organizational leaders AND eight-year-olds!

I love this book. Jon Gordon has written a simple life parable that is as applicable to my eight year old (I'm reading it to her now) as it is to any adult. This parable gets you to think about the importance of positive energy in your life and how it affects every part of your life. As a story it is engaging and fun to read, but it also mirrors real life. The story isn't all rose-colored glasses; it helps you think about your own personal habits and what hard choices might be required in order to create and maintain energy in your life. The story is structured around 10 Rules that are easy to remember and extremely valuable. As the book ends it offers more than just a summary - it provides an action plan to help you implement each of the rules in both your work and personal life. As I said, I am reading this book to my daughter, and I've recommended it to clients who are working on their organizational culture as well. I cannot say that about too many books - and feel that it will really be useful to both audiences - but I can say it about The Energy Bus. If you want more energy and if you want better results (or both) I urge you to get on the Bus!
The busjourney of a lifetime

Jon has written one of the classic parables of our time. In the telling of simple story you are able to full in love with life again. Returned me to the vision I have for the planet and especially myself. Often I leave out my own personal vision and get compassion overload. it feels like a weight has been lifted of my shoulders. I will tell you a secret, this book is much more profound than a book by that name.
Another positive for Jon! :)

Read through Jon's latest book with enthusiasm and admiration of his continued positive attitude and tips in spite of recently losing his mom to cancer. My daughter was in a funk, so I passed the book along to her and it brought her up with a fresh look at things. I like the step by step method he uses and visiting his website, you can sign up to receive his weekly newsletter full of more energy/positiveness to add to your life. Life really is too short to live any other way :)
