The Double Life of Ariana Mabel

By Georgia Rose

How can you exist in two places at once?

Ariana Mabel lives a double life-literally. As a human, she is just a quiet, ordinary young woman. But in the fantasy-like world of Syrinia, she is special. She is unique. She is a "Duplicate," a remarkable occurrence where a soul is split in two, one part living as a human on Earth, the other part existing in Syrinia, a separate, coexisting world kept secret from humans. Ariana experiences the ups and downs of human life while simultaneously existing in a beautiful, immortal world. Feeling like she doesn't belong in the human world, Ariana immerses herself in Syrinia, the one place where she can truly be herself.

There are times when Ariana begins to wonder whether Syrinia is real or something that exists only in her mind. But she desperately holds on to her favored world where she can be with the boy she loves.

Syrinia has been a safe haven for its inhabitants since its existence until one day, strange and unsettling things start to happen in what is meant to be a perfect world. In order to save the one place she can truly call home, Ariana must enlist the help of the boy she has known for the entirety of one life, yet never met in the other.
