The Doktor's Daughter

Tragedy brings Amelie Meyer back to Berlin. It's been four years since she was forced to flee her home, leaving everything behind-including her father.

Transformed by the Nazis, Berlin is now a drab and dangerous city, and Amelie can't wait to return to Paris. But before she can leave, she finds herself swept up in an intrigue that makes her question everything she thinks she knows about her father. Is he a traitor or a hero? The only way to find out is to put her own life on the line.

The Doktor's Daughter

I enjoyed getting to know Amelie Meyer in the book, Girl on the Run, and was excited to find out that Nancy McDonald is once again bringing Amelie back in her newest release, The Doktor's Daughter. It is interesting to see an older, more mature Amelie and catching up with her. She starts to discover family secrets and finds herself on a dangerous journey. I thought the author does a fantastic job to convey the horrible times for Nazi controlled Berlin, Germany. The historical details were so vivid and at times, horrific. There was a lot going on within the pages with the fast paced action and suspenseful mystery. I found it to be a great piece of historical fiction. At around one hundred sixty pages, it was easily read in one sitting. I had to keep reading on to see what would happen with Amelie and where she would end up. She is such a courageous character. I loved reading every single page. I am giving The Doktor's Daughter a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy World War II era Historical Fiction. Nancy McDonald has definitely earned herself a new fan and I will be eagerly awaiting for her next release. This one is most definitely worth reading and should not be missed. I received a paperback copy of The Doktor's Daughter from the publisher but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
