After resettling in New Liberty, the evolution of Colter dogs began to escalate. The Colter children, Shannon and Matthew have come of age, and their abilities to communicate with the dogs continue.Shannon's new husband Dalton was raised by his mother's people, the Crow. He and Shannon want to revisit the Yellowstone region of the Rocky Mountains. Once again the Colter family is on the move. The Colter Dogs join them, and continue to display the bravery and loyalty they have shown the Colter family, since Jesse and Sarah found them as they fled south at the time of the Go Back. The Colter dogs had escaped from the government labs where they were genetically engineered as weapons.But they evolved beyond the constraints of the science. They continue to evolve even today. The only difference is, no one knows where or how this transformation will end.
