I thought this book was very funny and caught myself chuckling out loud. The story of "lost scrolls" being translated, discovering a somewhat diary of a Demons veiw of the Bible through time. An assistant to Satan watches over earth and reports back to Satan what he sees with his own eyes and how he percieves it. I do love how it follows through the timeline of the Bible. If you are familiar with Bible stories you would find this take on it quite funny. If you arent you may find the story a little ridiculous. I enjoyed the first also and am currently working on the third The King, which finds Satan with a wrist watch!
The Continuation

I really liked this book. It continued right from where the first book left off and made Moses 'real'. These books really open your eyes to the fact that bible people were real people, bring personalities and thoughts of what they actually might have thought and feel in certain situations, to light.
Another Winner in the Reluctant Demon Diaries

Reminiscent of the C. S. Lewis classic "Screw-tape Letters" Linda Rios Brook has created a fresh perspective in relating the Biblical account of Israel's history from the time of Moses through to the days of Joshua's leadership, relating these stories from the Bible to spiritual warfare. "The Deliverer" is the second book in the Reluctant Demon Dairies series. The unique feature of the series is the narrator. The story is told as seen through the eyes of an eyewitness to the events related throughout this fictional account of Biblical history. Ancient-Language expert Samantha Yale has been entrusted with a set of ancient scrolls. As Samantha translates the scrolls a behind the scenes account of the life of Moses is unveiled. The writer is a fallen angel who laments the day he first listened to Lucifer. Brook is gifted in creating incredible word pictures and mental images that remain engrafted on the reader's mind, opening new vistas of insight into the spirit world, demonic strategy, and the price paid for pursuing evil. Brook then conveys her understanding and personal acquaintance with the depths of God's love, grace, and mercy. "The Deliverer" will appeal to young adult readers who have taken pleasure in the recent popular trend of books which deal with the themes of heaven and hell and spiritual warfare. Readers of Brooks earlier book "Lucifer's Flood" will also enjoy this highly imaginative, entertaining, informational, and inspiring sequel. A phenomenal read.
Delighted by The Deliverer

First off, I am going to have to disagree a bit with one reviewer regarding the plea a spirit had whilst in hell. I referenced the parable Jesus spoke concerning the Rich man and Lazarus. It is not such an escape from scripture to imagine that those who are separated from God desire to be reunited with Him again. Now, to get to my review of The Deliverer. I was enthralled by the first book in the series (Lucifer's Flood) and my expectations were met and exceeded by The Deliverer. If you are a fan of C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters and Dan Brown's The DaVinci Code, then you will enjoy The Deliverer. Keleigh Crigler Hadley Preacher's Kids
A Fascinating Fictional Perspective on the Life of Moses

"The Deliverer" by Linda Rios Brook is book two of The Reluctant Demon Diaries. It has hooked me from the opening chapter! Although I was bothered by a plea from a "spirit" that asked for prayer after he was in hell, the story rapidly grabbed my imagination as a conversation took place between Satan and one of his angels about the deliverer arriving on earth. The deliverer is quickly identified as Moses, and I couldn't wait to see where the author's imagination was going to take me as an observer of this instrument of God's liberation of Israel from Egyptian bondage. The story bounces from this plane of spiritual warfare to modern day interpretation of ancient scrolls that apparently tell this story. What a book! And the mental images painted by the author are so vivid that I think this would be an incredible movie! This book, although the second in a series, stands solidly on its own. But the writing is so good and the story so intriguing that I look forward to reading the first book, "Lucifer's Flood."
