The Day the Bases Ran Away

By Bryn M Pederson

The bases have run away - and only teamwork can bring them home

The Willow Street Whiskers used to love game day. But lately, their baseball games are all arguing, blaming, and stomping off the field. One moonlit night, the four bases decide they've had enough... and they run away, leaving nothing behind but four empty holes and a chalk-dust trail heading for the pines.

Now it's up to a scrappy team of tiger cubs to follow the clues, solve the mystery, and remember what really matters: saying "Nice try ", helping each other up, and being a good sport - win or lose.

With bouncy rhyming text, a gentle mystery, lovable characters, and a magical moonlit ending, The Day the Bases Ran Away is a perfect read-aloud for ages 3-9. Includes a "Good Sport Rules" activity page that turns the four bases into four simple rules kids can carry onto any field, playground, or classroom.

A heartwarming picture book about teamwork, sportsmanship, kindness, and never leaving a teammate behind - for little sluggers and big feelings alike.
