Dark is an understatement!

Don't pick up this book if you're expecting the usual Danielle Steel romance read. There is no romance and very little love of any kind. Without giving any spoilers, this book focuses on the twisted sense of maternal love without delving into any real sense of "why". The conclusion feels extremely rushed, attempting to tie it all up while simultaneously leaving the reader feeling unfulfilled.
