I really liked this story. Had me second guessing a couple of times. Liked that the story doesn't start with a lot of endless description. Love when a story grabs my attention, Quickley.

Easy to read and follow

This is the first I've read by this author. I liked it so much, I bought 4 more of her books. She writes in a casual way, which keeps things interesting and easy to follow

A real pageturner

This book was so good. At the beginning, I had my idea of what I thought was going to happen. I've seen/read so many mystery thriller stories in the past. But the further I got in the book, with every additional twist in the story, I was so hooked and determined to find out how it would end. The last page of the book literally left me with my mouth hanging open in shock. This book has made its way into my top 5 favorites now. Definitely recommend giving it a read

I wish it were longer!

It took no time for the action to start but it took awhile for the story to unravel but when it did there were so many curve balls I didn’t see coming. I was shocked yet upset about the ending though, I wanted more lol it’s a good read and I don’t regret buying the book at all.

Not a big reader & it kept me so hooked I finished it in 2 days!

If it weren’t for my kids I would’ve probably read the book in a day! This book kept me on the seat of my pants waiting for what would happen next. Then…. When I thought I knew who was responsible… WRONG! Totally captivating book & written so well. Can’t wait to try another one from the same author & look forward to the movie or tv series to come out on this as well.

Had a nice twist - but honestly I skipped full chapters because it went on and on about the same topic.

Not well written and totally predictable

This book was a waste of time. After a few pages I turned to the last chapter. All along the writing was awful and I felt that it was a colossal waste of my time. I do not recommend.

What A Twist!

This was a great read from the start, it immediately jumps into the action, which I loved. The ending had a twist that I never saw coming. I had so many different theories while I was reading this and none of the were right. I would suggest this book to anyone that needs a can't put down mystery.

This was a page-turner! I read this in 2 days because I couldn't put it down! Make sure you clean house before you start this one because you won't be getting anything done until you reach the end!

The couple next door definitely kept you intrigued kept me reading not letting me put the book down. Has an unexpected ending. Overall it was okay. It was a good book to kill some time if you like something suspenseful in which omg what is going to happen next and why would he do that etc.

Disappointing and not worth the hype

Yes there were twists and turns but there honestly weren’t enough exciting parts to warrant all the praise this book got. It was okay. And “the couple next door” didn’t even play a huge role in the plot in the grand scheme of things.

The suspense!

I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. It kept me on the edge of my seat, chapter after chapter. I highly recommend! Such an easy read.

Couldn't put it down!

This book had me in a crazy spiraling rollercoaster throughout. I had so many mixed emotions throughout, even the different characters had me going back and forth

Great read, I couldn’t put it down. Just when you think you have it figured out, another twist to the story pops up.

I am on a Shari Lapena's binge! It is my fourth novel and I love them all equally. I love her writing and all the characters she creates. Go on the suspenseful ride and be ready for the best and be entertain to the end. At this point she is my favorite suspense/thriller writer. Audiobooks also works great for her novels.

Made me fall into reading slump!!

I got the book because it hyped up on tiktok and YouTube. In my opinion wasn’t that great. It’s predictable ending once you get to middle of book.

Great plot with many twists

Really enjoyed the book. Lapena wrote a nice ending to it. I wasn’t expecting all the plot twists which makes for a nice read. My only complaint is that the beginning half is maybe a bit slow. Definitely recommend

Very good book. Quick read. Not a lot of characters (which I like!!) and MANY twists & turns you don't see coming!! GREAT ending too!!

Predictable, unoriginal story

This book was simply…not good. It’s a story that I’ve read over and over again, in someone else’s words. It’s quite predictable, there’s no real suspense, and it’s overly long. Lots of unnecessary repeating of events and I found myself skimming through several pages at a time. It’s also written in present tense, which I never thought I’d ever care about, but I was not a fan. I felt like I was reading a screenplay.

The title of this book is a bit deceiving, let's just say that without spoiling it.

Keeps you guessing!

Every pages keeps you on your toes! Just when you think you have it figured out BAM new twist! Absolutely loved this book and looking forward to reading more for this author. Read it in one day with no regrets!

One chapter into the book and I knew I was in for a all-nighter

From the very first chapter I was completely hooked on this novel. I found myself wanting to scream at the characters one minute and then next I was totally heartbroken on what they were going threw. If you are a fan of physiological thrillers this is a MUST read. I ordered the next book without knowing anything about it just based on how much I liked this one.

The ending was awful.

I really enjoyed this book until I came to the absolutely ridiculous ending. I think I could have written a better ending myself. She took what was a really good book and turned it into something just plain stupid at the end.

It was OK

This book took me quite a while to get into it...about 100 pages. The story was there, and I wanted to know what was going to happen, but so many events were repeated over and over again it left me skimming ahead. All in all, there were a lot of twists and turns. But not my favorite writing style. I was so glad when it was finished.

I was able to get through this book very quickly. Not because it was short or too easy of a read but i really didn't know what was going to happen next. You start with one thought of how it'll end then you just keep second guessing everything. I want a continued book for this story

Loved this book. It grabs you from page one. Read way into the night. Highly recommended..my second book from Riley Sager but not my last!!!

Absolutely awful

I would never recommend this book to anyone. It was a complete and utter waste of time. The writing was awful, the people in the story seem so far away that you honestly have no feelings for them and the ending. Jeez, was completely trash. I’m not sure how anyone votes this as a worth while novel.

Slow burn without a satisfying ending

I read this very quickly but only because I hoped and hoped the next chapter would be the beginning of the good stuff. The plot twists weren’t super shocking and the ending was cheesy made everything feel like a waste a time.

Absolutely Amazing

If you love a good thriller, this book is for you. I was not able to put it down! I did figure out the mystery about halfway through but it was still incredibly entertaining. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the genre.

Lots of unnecessary repeating of events. It has a great plot and the author could have ran with it! Kind of feel short changed by missing details. It wasn’t an awful book, but definitely not as good as I expected. Will try to read another Shari Lepena book.

It was definately just ok

Not a bad book, I read it pretty quickly. It almost seemed to simple. The plot was great, but I think the author could have written it so it sucked me in a bit more. I would recommend it, but not highly recommend it.
