Great read

This is a really fun read and insightful as well. It can be light and funny but then Wolper adds a sentence that just nails something on the head. I love this book and highly recommend it to anyone but especially if you're a single woman tired of the scene. I've bought at least six copies for friends- makes a perfect gift.

Great summer beach read that you'll think about later

For the woman who isn't all about frills but still yearns for some romance in her life...or is willing to settle for written romance, this is the book you want. For the typical glam-girl, this is for you too. It's a good look into the mind of a woman, so the males out there might enjoy it. Elizabeth, the LA based screenwriter and heroine, wants it all. Like you. Like me. The story follows her through various crushes and lust interests, including her secret desire for a goodlooking coworker that treats her like "one of they guys." It's frank, sometimes acerbic. These tones come from musings and quotes like "I've always gotten along with models--who should not be confused with bimbos. ... In spite of the sophistication they pick up from hanging out in Paris and Milan, they are capable of indulging in a silly pillow fight."While entertaining, it also has standing points on life. It's not all fluff, and that's why it will linger in your mind long after the beach turns chilly. One example, Elizabeth's thoughts on the phrase "'just friends', as if having a friend is insignificant. Friendship is gigantic." Finding happiness in the little things works after all, I guess.

Must read!

This book was incredible! Anyone who enjoyed reading the Briget Jones Diary should read this too. My friend and I still quote from it even after a year.

This is definitely a must-read

I read this book a while ago, but just noticed negative feedback and was shocked. This book surpasses Isabel Wolff and comes pretty close to Bridget Jones. Elizabeth West is funny and very likeable. I like "chick" books that don't get cheesy or mushy, and this is definitely enjoyable and I could relate to it

Oh, What A Ride!!

I read this straight through in one day, I was so connected to the character I felt like it could have been autobiographical, (which is both very sad, and a little comforting)! It's so interesting to see this side of a woman that is usually not portrayed in novels. For anyone a little bewildered about the rush to marriage, but sensing that you're supposed to be feeling like you're running out of time, this is the book for you. Such an easy read. I've recommended it to everyone I know, and I laughed most of the way through. Don't expect the typical ending, and you won't be dissappointed.
