Dark and Weird, and I like it

I had a hard time staying interested in Roth's Divergent Series, but this book was more interesting to me. Where Divergent was Y-A, this is full on "Adult" and I dont think this story could be told for a younger audience. It's a bit on the dark side, with kind of an anti-hero main character. Sloane is a character you almost hate to love, for most of this book. I see a lot of relevant pop culture references and issues weaved in to this sci-fi/fantasy story that supposedly takes place in present day Earth, as well as a parallel Earth. This story has a lot of things going on, so pay attention to all the "clues," and tidbits of "articles" and "top secret reports" that she intermittently tosses in there. It makes for an interesting format as well. If you like tales of fantasy/magic, good vs evil storylines, complex character stories, mixed with a little darkness, then give this book a shot. I devoured it in just a few days. I won't give any plot away!
