The Cat who Walked the Camino
Don Pedro Pepito, a small striped kitten, and his friend Luc a make a pilgrimage across Northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Walking five hundred miles, they explore famous Camino landmarks and encounter fellow pilgrims from all over the world.
They meet Nico, a man traveling in a wheelchair. At the Cathedral of Santo Domingo, they visit chickens living in a church. Chickens in a church? Luc a tells the story of the miracle the Saint and the chickens.
Following the ancient tradition of Camino pilgrims, they leave a stone at the Cruz de Hierro, the Iron Cross.
When Don Pedro Pepito follows a herd of sheep to their barn he watches the shepherd milk the sheep and learns how to make cheese. However, when he returns to the Camino, he has lost Luc a and walks many miles by himself.
After he is attacked by a ferocious dog and valiantly fights back, Luc a rescues him. Although he is proud he has learned to be independent, Don Pedro Pepito realizes that being with Luc a is much better than being alone.
Their journey ends at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, where they meet up with Luc a's family.
Her mother and brother fall in love with the little cat and invite him to join their family.
