I tend to agree with the first reviewer. This book is well written and the photo images - subject choice, composition and printing reproduction, are superb. I just wish there were more photos in the book as Scott Ziegler has a really special way of making the Cascades look like the most amazing wilderness in the world. There are no buildings, people or anything man made in any of the photos - just views of a magnificent wilderness. Thoroughly reccomended for lovers of nature and wilderness photography.
Great photo images

Author has used his own photography in the field and historical research to produce a concise illustrated essay on the Cascade Range with text emphasis on the earliest explorations in each area. The book uniquely is divided into sections based on major river drainages. The scenic photo images are of very high quality. The text is written with the attention to detail that only someone who had experienced many years of visitation could write. For someone looking for an introduction to the Cascades, providing human exploratory history prior to the modern recreational era, this is it. Fun to look through and interesting reading.
