The Captain's Christmas Bride" by Annie Burrows (2015) This is Lady Julia Whitney and Captain Alex Dunbar's story. Lady Julia Whitney was in love with a young man named David. Her father was against the marriage so Julia decided she would have to stage a situation where she would be compromised and then her father would have to allow them to marry. She decided t would be during the masquerade ball. She saw David in his costume and grabbed his hand and led him to the orangery. Being in his arms and all that passion was just what she wanted until her friend Marianne walked in on them. Unfortunately she was accompanied by David. If that was David over by the door, who was she embracing. Captain Alex Dunbar was shocked to find that the woman he was lying with was not the actress he thought her to be but the young Lady of the house...Julia!
