A Great Trip Though California Gold Country History

The title is misleading as the book is not about the "gold craziness" that most would envision upon hearing the title. Rather this is an excellent collection of stories detailing the history of the area of the Sierra Nevada around the city of Mariposa. Between the fact that the book was first published in 1936 and the quotes from historical newspapers, it reads as very authentic. It is a well written pleasure to read.
