Book Overview

A mad Marquess and an underestimated Bluestocking

Christi Caldwell makes an interesting read with her fourth installment to the wicked wallflowers, namely Edwin, called the mad Marquess who has a hatred of the Killoran's believing that they stole his son Steven. But what infuriates him most is Gertrude Killoran who insists on being his son's governess, a somewhat meek bluestocking left blind in one eye from a beating who is slowly making him take an interest in her until finally he can't fight his feelings for her. Gertrude wanting a change in her life took the position as her adoptive brother Steven's governess, dealing with Edwin's hatred of her, and her family and slowly sees a man who is lonely and had far too much heartache piled on top of him. In trying to comfort him, she soon finds more passion, understanding, and above all more peace with him and Steven then she could ever imagine one night when he comes to her bedchamber. Its a romance that proves opposites attract, and that it can even out the other.

Only OK

I read this book not realizing it was part of a series. At times it was very good, but occasionally repetitive. The characters were not especially riveting and no humor, which is a must for me. Writing style is quite good (does not write like a 15 yr old). I did make it through to the end but probably will. It bother with the rest of the series.
