This paper looks at the teaching of indigenous culture and history in two primary schools (6th to 9th grade) in the municipality of M ncio Lima, showing the main challenges to the implementation of Law No. 11.645 of March 10, 2008, which decrees the compulsory teaching of indigenous history and culture in the official curriculum of the school system. The aim of this study is, therefore, to investigate how two schools in the municipality work with indigenous culture and history in accordance with the foundations of this law, given the importance of indigenous culture for the Manciolimense community.
