The recollections of those young C Co 3/21 Gimlets Warriors who fought so bravely four decades ago will always be remembered by those of us who also walked and fought upon those same trails during that challenging time when we were called to serve in our Country's cause for freedom; It is much more meaningful to me today, as my son, 1Lt. Nainoa Hoe, Platoon Ldr. 2nd Plt. C Co 3/21 Gimlets, gave his last full measure 36 yrs later upon another hotly contested battlefield called Mosul, assigned to the Gimlets in our Country's continuing commitment to Liberty; The, sights, sounds the oppressive heat and yes the aromas as well, come flooding back in the descriptions by the author Tom Pozdol. The legacy he writes about is perhaps best remembered in the strength of our resolve to duty honor and country and by all the brave young warriors who have ever served their time in Hell as a Gimlet.

Highly recommended book,That is very eye opening to a person that is the son of one of these soldiers that is mentioned in this book, I found it very healing for the men and their families to tell their story. The ability to bring you there to the intense reality of a battle. The bravery of these men and to rely on each other in a time of war.... Its a must read.. thank you Tom for your time in putting this book together.

Tam Ky: The Battle for Nui Yon Hill is a wonderful tribute to the men who served in Vietnam. It is also a poignant reminder of what these brave young men had to endure in what turned out to be futile war.
Highly recommended for anyone interested in an up close and personal look at the harrowing bloodshed

Grounded firmly in true events and thorough research, Tam Ky: The Battle for Nui Yon Hill tells of a grueling Vietnam War battle that took place between May 13-15, 1969. When "The Charlie Tigers" C Company 3/21 Infantry, 196th Light Infantry Brigade became embroiled in combat in a hot landing zone, a succession of vicious firefights resulted in horrendous casualty rates - both for them and the enemy. Tam Ky: The Battle for Nui Yon Hill presents its gripping narrative in storytelling format, rather than as a strict historical chronicle, yet is nonetheless compelling and highly recommended for anyone interested in an up close and personal look at the harrowing bloodshed of the Vietnam War.
