REAL RESULTS

This book is a great addition to women's weight training books. Even if you didn't follow her weight training recommendations, her discussion/celebration of ALL of the curves that make up a woman's body is inspiring and worth reading (rather than just rear end and breast curves - she goes into the calf curve, the lower back curve, etc.) It requires a balanced workout to achieve symmetry. She definitely speaks from a woman who KNOWS what she is doing. What I get from her is that she honors the female body. She also dispenses practical knowledge of how to increase those curves and zero in on trouble spots that we all struggle with - and also helps you determine what your body type is and what you need. Okay, here's an example of one of her million dollar secrets. She maintains that "saddlebags" generate from the quads, not from the butt, as I'd always thought. She recommends these grueling 6" foot placement full down squats as a remedy - I've been doing these for a month now, and bingo! This trouble spot I've been working on for 1-1/2 years is disappearing (thanks also to my increased cardio, 5x a week), and I'm developing great shape to my legs. I ran her concepts by my personal trainer/friend at my gym and he said, "Yep! It's all about the angles!" I can't believe the difference it makes, the simple foot placement on squats or leg presses, and it does change the exercise. ALSO - regarding her comments about men looking at her curves - I have a completely different take on this. She isn't flaunting herself, she is speaking lightly of the male instinct to follow curves with their eyes (I have curves, and I KNOW this happens - no ego necessary, it's just the way males are designed)- she's just discussing the power of symmetry, not how great she is. (Come on, ladies, don't you notice great symmetry on a man? I do!) She writes in a humorous, pull-no-punches style. I wouldn't recommend this book for a first beginner (try Body for Life for this). However, if you're looking to detail out, it's a great resource unlike any I've found. While I find the cover photo a bit daunting (very buff and pumped up, almost male-like physique - but that's cool, we can all look like we want to).....I love her curved look inside - definitely a strong and powerful woman. I didn't really use this book for her nutritional advice - much of her tips are common sense things, though I eat differently than her meal plans. A good addition to your weight training library, I believe Negrita shares more secrets than you'll get elsewhere.

Woman Of The World -- Get Sexy, Shapely, Curves Now!!!

Supervixen is 20 years ahead of its time. It is the first book ever, to seriously explain why the female form is universally magnetic! That alone makes the book worthy of purchase. However, Negrita goes on to chart directions with over 100 exercises designed to get those magnetic curves. An amazing insight of exercise physiology applied to womanly curv-ology--the key to visual charisma. I found this book a gem of insight--yes--the exercises are not easy and Negrita makes it quite plain that work begets the desired result, but the results are sooo desireable. People looking for a free ride here should take the bus and suck on low-fat yogurt, this book radiates self-discipline and I found that position so refreshing in a world of deceptive snake oil charmers that promise amazing results in just a few minutes a day. Jayde makes it abundantly clear--there's no such thing as a massive shortcut. And that is the cornerstone of the book. Negrita talks to you like she's sitting in your living room and telling you the real skinny on getting shapely. No bull, just rare insights that work with time, hard work and focus. I know, I've done the hard work, time and focus--but without the truth--and I went nowhere. With Jayde's exercise tips I see my body sprouting all sorts of new shape and sexy muscles. And I LIKE IT! SUPERVIXEN is a hit; an island of truth amongst the sea of physical culture fluff books.

Not for "average janes" -- hardworking hardbodies only!

Negrita recommends a physique under 18% bodyfat, and total abstinence from junk foods -- this isn't some wishy-washy "Walk yourself to a firmer body" kind of nonsense. This is intelligent bodybuilding (whatever Negrita wants to call it), intended to create a muscular and shapely female body. And you are expected to work very, very hard for it.Basically, if you don't like the way Negrita looks on the cover, you should go buy any of thousands of easier, more forgiving fitness books. This is hardcore. It's a great book.

an essential book for women serious about looking great

I have been weight lifting for over a year now and have read several books on weight lifting for women including "The Woman's Book of Strength" by Karen Andes, Joyce Vedral's book "Weight Training Made Easy", and Cory Everson's "Fat-Free & Fit". "Supervixen" is by far my favorite book. It is the only book that I have found that actually helps you develop specific goals for your body to help give you the best body you can have (symmetry as Negrita calls it). I spent many wasted hours in the gym and lots of money on trainers until I read this book and learned the very specific hand and foot positions for each exercise needed to achieve my particular goals. All bodies are not the same and each requires different excercises. I have personally had great results with this book with much less effort. Most people think I'm 10 years younger than I really am. If you are serious about wanting a better shape and want to see results from your efforts, I highly recommend this book.
