Refreshing content

This is not an action packed book, but a book about living a good life every day. It does have biblical content, but I think the principles it teaches are very good for children to learn. It is nice to find a book that is so innocent yet refreshing. Both my 8 year old and my 5 year old really enjoyed this book. I will definitely be buying the others in this series.

Great read aloud

This is a really nice children's book. It's an excellent read aloud chapter book and is interesting and engaging enough to hold the attention of a 6year old and yet still be enjoyed by older children and momma as well. It is a wonderful book that follows a fictional Christian homeschooling family, the Moody's, through one summer. The book creates opportunities to discuss serving others, responsibility, familial harmony and living a life that glorifies God with your children. One especially appealing aspect of the book is that this is a homeschooling family, that isn't something that is a common fixture in children's books. There are three other books in the Moody family series and we will be reading through each one of them. Miss Maxwell is a talented writer and I do hope to see more work by her in the future!
