Saved my life

At age forty, I was still operating under the assumption that I am indestructible...probably immortal even. I'd lived a charmed life where health was concerned. When a friend suggested I read STUPID REASONS PEOPLE DIE, I left it on my night stand for months. When I finally peeled back the cover I was taken in an instant. Dr. Corso's humor and instantly relatable writing style pulled me in. Once "in" I found that I agreed with his assertions regarding managing your health. That revelation led to a few blood tests, which led to the discovery that I wasn't the "Ox" I'd thought I was. My cholesterol was mysteriously high and I went on to find other symptoms of heart disease. My doctor classified me as a "time bomb" that was set to go off had I not taken action. I'm an avid reader and yet, this is the first time I've taken a minute to jot out a review. This is important stuff...take care of yourself, read it!!!

I found the book so easy to understand and full of very useful information. I gave copies to a friend and family members. I even took it to my annual check-up and asked my doctor about some of the suggested tests. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Wow! A very enlightening and FUN read!

This book was so full of great information. I never knew about these few simple tests which could slash my chances of stupidly dying. I also didn't know why doctors operate their practices like they do. What doctor would ever go into family practice/internal medicine these days? It was in clear and understandable prose with simple "to do" steps which gave me a great sense of control over my health destiny. I thought I was a pretty savvy person medically but this book filled in some huge gaps I didn't even know I had. I was also greatly entertained by Dr. Corso's easy style. Everyone should read this and tell their loved ones about it. I feel like I was walking a tightrope and this book was my net.
