God is Faitful!

What can I saw - another great read from one of my favorite authors. Besides showing the faithfulness of God I love how Pat depicts strong African American men who are not ashamed to call on the Name of the Lord. The storyline in Still Guilty was so great that I read the book in 2 days! Still Guilty continues the great series that began with Cheney and Parke. One of the unanswered questions from Guilty of Love is finally answered!!! It was awesome to see how God moved and showed His favor towards Parke. Then there was one trial after another, the Word is true - His grace is sufficient. This third book in this awesome series also touched on the issue on how you face seeing everyone else receive from God what you most desire - yet you still wait. Pat Simmons has the great gift of weaving intriguing storylines, geneology, and God's faithfulness into one book. As usual Grandma BB and Cami are still a hoot! You won't be disappointed with this great read. Still Guilty stands alone, but it will be a much richer experience if you read book 1 - Guilty of Love and book 2 - Not Guilty of Love. Cant' wait until book 4!

GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME.

God is good, all the time. Cheney and Parke are back along with the demons of their past. Cheney's faith has kept her family afloat and her past decisions are coming back to haunt her. Parke (Cheney's husband) is finding it hard to control his emotions as his search for a son from a previous relationship comes to an end. Rainey, Cheney's twin brother, has a strong presence in the second installment of the Jamieson/Reynolds story as he faces his fears, searches for love and opens his heart to God. As the court proceedings for Grandma BB and Roland Reynolds approach, the already strained relationships between all involved may reach a breaking. Only God can intervene and bring peace in the midst of the storm. Simmons has again created a story family story with a biblical base. The characters are genuine while the issues hit close to home. Every family has their fair share of secrets but its how the issues are dealt with that makes all the difference in the world and that is the key to the realness of this story. There are parts of the story that are slow and predictable but the ending will renew your faith in God's almighty power.
