Soviet Foreign Policy 1917-1991

This book is, of course, dated, since the Soviet Union collapsed at the end of the year in which it was published. In a way, however, this makes the book more valuable since it covers virtually the complete period of the USSR's existence. Also, it contains a variety of views by various authors. While the communist world is no longer the threat to world peace that it was, the world now faces the threat of jihadist terror. The West is making some of the same mistakes it made in dealing with communism, and some of the same issues apply to terrorism as applied to communism. While reading this book, if the reader will put in some thought as to parallels with the world today, it can be doubly informative.
