An engaging, inspirational memoir that takes readers on a soul-searching journey toward heart-consciousness and spiritual authenticity

Ever since childhood, Jeff Brown did all the things he was supposed to do to become successful in the eyes of the world. He was on the Dean's Honor List as an undergraduate. Shaping my Soul!

I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down. I stayed up all night to finish it. It is not only extremely honest and transparent, but it is heart-felt and connective. Maybe my thoughts and experiences parallel the author's, but I got more out of this book personally than I have in a book for years. I closed it inspired and excited to be alive...and to have the opportunity to shape my own soul - in line with my heart callings. Highly recommended - especially to anyone not living their highest potential - and anyone who feels they are in the wrong line of work and are called to do something higher, bigger and more heart-felt.

Honest and gut wrenching

Jeff Brown has written an honest gut-wrenching, often painful and incredibly beautiful book about the journey of his soul. From his humble and dysfunctional beginnings where he learned to develop a different persona for his every need, to his 'knowing' and deja vue like experience while winning and accepting his prestigous articling appointment with famed trial attorney Eddie Greenspan,Jeff weaves an articulate tale of relationships- his love for his grandfather, his love hate relationship with his mother, his true love Rachel, and the hard won love he developed for himself while on his quest to find his spiritual path. Based on real life-lessons, Soulshaping is one man's journey to find his higher self. Learn from Jeff how you too, might learn to 'hear' your own 'little voice that knows'. Finally some grounded spirituality

Soulshaping is one of the only books I have read that brings eastern spirituality and western psychology together in a way that we can bring into our daily lives. I am tired of all these detachment books about the "now". How can you be in the "now" if you haven't done your emotional healing? Those books are written by people who can't deal with their hurt. I wanted a model that brought all the emotional healing I had done together with my longing for enlightenment. Jeff walks the walk. He takes us into his life and we get reminded of our own lives. It was funny and brilliant and I loved all the language he created. It is my favorite spiritual book because I didn't feel lectured at. I felt like he was just opening a bunch of doors, and it was for me to decide which one to walk through. This book is not one of those self help books with marketing hype but no substance. It is all substance and good for warrior men and for women who love great relationship stories. I hated when it ended.

magnificently human

Soulshaping was different than the other self-books I have read. It wasn't an ivory tower book. It wasn't one of those books. Jeff wrote right from the heart of his own experience and his insights came right out of his journey. I could relate to them. I felt like he was walking beside me in a way. I loved reading about a man's inner world. By revealing so much about himself, I felt comfortable self-revealing. Coming from my secretive family, that is NEVER easy. After finishing it, I made a giant step toward finally letting go of a relationship I have been unhappy with for years. It is a magnificent and yet very human book.

a journey

A fantastic, funny yet profound book. Beautifully written and deeply insightful. I couldn't put the book down. It touched me on many levels...from my funny bone down to my core. I resonated with the authors revelations and vulnerability. It gave me the courage to look more honestly at myself. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a little insight and flight.
