When a gang of owlhoots ,led by ex Confederate Colonel Charles Bowdry rides into town, robs the bank,stores, and people and even killing a storeowner's wife and son;he has made a big mistake. The widow hires Slocom to hunt them down and make them pay for their dasterly crimes. The widow is determined to accompany Slocum,even willing to learn all the skills of a Gunfighter,to convince Slocum that she has what it takes to take on this band of killers. The story is filled with lots of Old West action and a host of well developed characters--both good and bad.They even meet up with the famous Virgil Earp,brother of Wyatt,who happened to be Marshal of Dodge as Slocum and Wink pursue Bowdry and his gang. A great yarn, and one that shows why this series has lasted so long,while many others have gone by the wayside.
