Inspirational AND practical

Not only does Marion Downs inspire us to live fully and proactively, but she provides us with practical advice to do so. It is also full of fun and humor. Don't miss it!

Read it and live.

A wonderfully entertaining and informative book by an accomplished woman who really knows how to enjoy life. Contains good advice for people of all ages but especially for those who think of themselves as getting old. It will inspire you and lift your spirits.

Not Just a Book for Octogenarians+!

Shut Up and Live is a book about living fully at ANY age. Most of us have agonized, whined and worried our way through at least one life crisis--but Marion Downs sage and sassy advice is a motto for eliminating that unfruitful energy and just doing what you know how to do to take care of yourself on a daily basis. This book is like diving in the cold water on the first day of summer: Feeling that invigorating rush of being alive and pride in taking the plunge--the instinct that will help us achieve a healthy longevity! Recommended for 19 year olds--they'll have longer to enjoy the wisdom--but especially for the middle-aged who are looking for a second wind.

much needed

What a pleasure to see some common sense in a book. Marion Downs tells it like it is and gives instruction on life issues. Refreshing in its take on elder life and how to succeed.

Great advice and a fun read!!

Marion Downs is a treasure! You needn't be "old" to read this book; and if you think you're old, it's likely she'll change your mind. Don't miss this one!
