Shellabella is a mermaid, living in Coral Cove. Her great-grandma tells her that one day she too will achieve great things and have her own story to tell.
Andre is neurodivergent. He puts up with bullying and not having friends but has a deep love of all things ocean-related and adores his seven-year-old sister Amira, who is in the hospital. When Andre visits, they make up stories and draw pictures to escape the worries of the real world.
When Amira recovers, the family are given the opportunity to go on holiday and see dolphins in their natural habitat.
On this trip, they discover Shellabella, who introduces them to her underwater world and together the characters embark on a magical adventure.
These experiences help the characters to become stronger, learn to appreciate life, make friends, and have their own stories to tell.
