Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace

Women have been subjected to cruel treatment at every stage of their lives despite showering their love and affection on everybody. It is not a new phenomenon and has existed for centuries. Although, the world societies claim to have given women a high status, the fact remains that it is more on paper than in actual reality and women are still treated as second fiddle to men. The womenfolk have always played a second fiddle to men not only in the Indian Society, but throughout the world and thus have been subjected to exploitation and violence. This violence against women is not confined to a particular age or time in her life. Right from the conceptual stage, her fight for survival begins as in several cases attempts are made to abort the foetus if it is found to be of a female. After she comes into the world, she has to pass through three phases of life - as a daughter, as a wife and then as a mother, wherein she continues to play a second fiddle and bear the brunt of being a female.
