Self Doubling: The Truth That Dwells Within You

Self Doubling - The Truth That Dwells Within You
A new frontier in psychodrama, 2011-2026

The fruit of over thirty years of research into Morenian psychodrama, the body, and memory: a journey into the duration of trauma and its traces in time, in posture, and in relationships.

In this book, Maria Gioia Mosca presents Self Doubling(c), or the direct Double: an advanced stage of psychodramatic work in which the protagonist, guided by a trained therapist, directly encounters their own Double, without external auxiliary egos, to transform unresolved suffering that continues to act in their life.

Along her path, the author encountered the great human and professional value of Monica Zuretti, a one of the great teachers of Morenian psychodrama. Her experience, her friendship, and her profound vision sustained Maria Gioia Mosca in carrying forward her own intuition. The dialogue with her - always rich and directed towards deepening the service rendered to the human being - remains a precious testimony to the value and the direction of this journey.

Rooted in the legacy of J. L. Moreno and in dialogue with Sch tzenberger, the neuroscience of memory, posture, and transgenerational dynamics, the Mosca Method(c) offers a reading of trauma not merely as an event, but as a duration that inscribes itself in the body and in family history.
This is neither a self-help manual nor a technique to be imitated, but the theoretical and methodological foundation of a path that requires specific training and qualified accompaniment.
It is a book addressed to those who wish to reclaim that lingering void - the void to which no exhaustive answer has yet been given, and which forms part of every human life.

Maria Gioia Mosca is a psychodramatist and independent researcher in the fields of psychodrama, bodily memory, and transgenerational processes, with a specialisation in the Psychology of Communication and advanced training in psychogenealogy and transgenerational therapy. She is a member of IAGP and AIPsiM. She encountered psychodrama over thirty years ago, making it her own way of life and of research. Through constant work in group and individual settings, she has explored its therapeutic potential, integrating it with other fields of study - including posturology, nutrition, and bodily and embodied memory - broadening its vision and its possibilities of application.

From this journey, the Mosca Method(c) was born, at whose centre stands Self Doubling - the act of self-doubling - an original perspective that works on the duration of traumatic suffering and on embodied memory, and proposes a paradigm shift in the use of the technique and of the function of the Double in psychodramatic practice.
