Seducing the Highlander

"Seducing Ian" When Ian McCray's uncle is unlawfully arrested by hated Baron Franklin, Ian captures and kidnaps Leanna Arlington, the Baron's virginal betrothed in retaliation. He plans to use and abuse her in order to gain leverage to get his uncle's release. This is a sound and foolproof plan except for one thing. Leanna doesn't want to be returned... Ian's family is introduced in "Seducing Ian" which leaves the reader wanting to know more about the McCray's. I loved Leanna's character because she was so strong and determined. Ian was gallant, despite his behavior that suggests otherwise. Family means everything to him and his actions, in my mind, are totally justified. "Seducing Robbie" Scot Robbie McCray's ships have been taken over by the English. Doing his best to somehow find money to replace the lost fleet, Robbie despairs of ever obtaining enough money. And then Julia Cameron walks into his life, turns it upside down, and offers Robbie the bargain of a lifetime! Robbie McCray is completely Scottish to the core and naughty to boot. He made me shiver! Julia was brave and her feelings for Robbie soon became life altering. I adored watching them fall in love. "Seducing Aidan" Aidan Cameron is licking his wounds because the woman he thought he loved is married to someone else. Travelling, he comes across a carriage being held up and the woman inside being accosted. Aidan soon gets rid of the thieves and accompanies the young woman to an inn where she thanks him quite nicely. Gillian Lorin rocks Aidan's world and at first there is a reason for her compliance. As she and Aidan come together, Gillian soon forgets her agenda and falls in love with Aidan. Quick witted and smart, Gillian is attracted to Aidan from the first and he to her. Lasting relationships have formed with less and their lusty love scenes were indeed beautiful to read. Hold onto your kilts lads and lassies! Seducing the Highlander is so hot it'll make a plaid blush! Ten thumbs up to Emma Wildes. Seducing the Highlander is totally and Joyfully Recommended from cover to cover! 4 Hearts from TRS!

This anthology is set among the wilds of Scotland where the fighting is fierce and violent. The novellas are passionate and intense yet are still lighthearted and sweet. Since they are short stories there is not a lot of time for a relationship to develop but they make up for that with the quantity of sex that leads them to their HEA. The heroes are adept at taking care of their clans and families and they do whatever is necessary as the leader. It takes our three heroines to bring out their softer sides and it is always fun to read about the alpha hero who is tamed by the love of his life. I enjoyed how the three stories connected and most especially the strength and character depicted by all three heroes. - Lisa Freeman

entertaining historical romantic anthology

"Seducing Ian". Wanting to force the hand of his enemy to drop false charges brought against a clan relative, Laird Ian McCray kidnaps the adversary's betrothed Leanna Arlington. However, he wants her and she him, but her intended will not go away gracefully. "Seducing Robbie". Julia Cameron offers Robbie McCray a large dowry if he marries and protects her. However, as he is ready to agree, both wants much more in their relationship as each feels the heat of desire. "Seducing Aidan". When his betrothal abruptly ended, Adain Cameron feels depressed and lost; that is until he rescues Gillian Lorin from highwaymen who accosted her on her way to her meeting her vicious betrothed. However, instead of escorting her to her intended husband, he takes her to his clan where she asks for sanctuary and he offers much more knowing the threat to his people. These three interrelated Highlander romances are fun tales of kick butt heroes, feisty heroines, and vile villains who come together to make an entertaining historical romantic anthology. A trio of Highlanders find love unexpectedly

Emma Wildes has written three novellas about bold dashing highlanders and the women who love them. The stories interconnect well with characters flowing easily into each tale (however I had difficulty at first determining the time period for this book). Of the three stories I enjoyed the last and first the most, probably because they are similar with English heroines who are escaping terrible marriages. In the first story Seducing Ian, beautiful English Leanna is betrothed to a terrible man who has locked her into his tower. Highland Laird Ian has an axe to grind against Lady Leanna's fiancé and he steals her away in the night intending to use her as a bargaining chip to free his uncle held under false charges in England. However Leanne is more than Ian expected, she is kind considerate and very accommodating to his demands. Leanna is grateful for Ian's intervention in her life but she is falling in love with the handsome rogue and she is uncertain to their future. Leanna is smart, she realizes having an affair with Ian will ruin her in the eyes of her betrothed and she undertakes this liaison with that goal in mind. These two fall in love despite the fact that their romance is out of the ordinary but then they are not in ordinary circumstances either. Ian is charming and this story sets up the rest of the novellas nicely. Ian's cousin, Robbie is falling for beautiful Leanna too and sometimes a man just needs a little competition to understand his own feelings. Seducing Robbie is the second story of this trio and the one I enjoyed the least. Robbie is propositioned into marriage by a beautiful Scottish lass. Julia needs to marry Robbie in order to claim her inheritance. She was engaged to her distant cousin but now shuns him because she believes he killed her brother and father. Robbie goes along with this plan as he desires to rebuild his shipping fleet and Julia is rich. These two have a very passionate relationship, theirs is likely the most sensuous of all the stories but I was not enthralled with Julia's character, she was a little too sharp with people and loyalty is really not one of her strong suits. She switched her affections rather easily. The last story Seducing Aidan has sweetness to it that the others don't. It is probably my favorite. Aidain Cameron rescues a lovely English woman from would be robbers. Inside her coach, Lady Gillian is astounded to see a very handsome Scot offering to assist her when her guardian dies. She is on her way to meet her betrothed, a particularly loathsome man, when she meets Aiden. When Aiden discovers who her betrothed is he whisks her away to his castle and offers her his protection. These two like each other right away and they don't play games with their affections or hide their motives from one another. Of all the heroes, Aiden was my favorite by far, perhaps because he had suffered so much and needed someone to heal his broken heart. I just wish this couple could have ha
