A True Character Builder

Judy Masrud provides it all in this wonderful story of two puppies and the paths their lives take because of responsible and irresponsible owners. Boomer and Chance are delightful characters and give a puppy's view of life in the big world. If only all pet owners could read such a delighful manual of the needs and concerns of animals. Teaches empathy, responsibility, accountability and love. All with a happy ending. Focus on children, but even adults will view the love and benefits of pet ownership anew.

An excellent introduction for children in understanding what is involved with becoming good pet owne

Very nicely enhanced by the black-and-white illustrations of Cathy Pool, Second Chance: A Tale Of Two Puppies by Judy Masrud is about two young boys adopting a pair of "penmates" as their canine companions. Second Chance uses the story of these two boys to guiding young readers ages 6 to 12 through the necessity of responsibility and care when adopting an animal.
