Some towns are born bad. Others are just waiting for a match.
In a remote West Texas oil boomtown, the law doesn't protect the innocent-it runs the extortion racket. Sheriff Harlan Vance rules his dusty, sun-baked empire with a heavy-gauge shotgun and a squad of ruthless deputies. But Vance's absolute authority is bleeding into the territory of Hector Salinas, an old-guard cartel sicario who controls the lucrative trafficking lanes running straight through the oil fields.
Their cold war has turned the town into a powder keg. The innocent locals, including diner owner Cora Hayes, are just collateral damage caught in the crossfire of two ruthless predators.
Then Garrett gets off the bus.
Wearing a battered baseball cap and cheap canvas work pants, he looks like just another transient laborer looking for a payday. He speaks softly, slouches to make himself look smaller, and keeps his eyes down.
But Garrett isn't looking for work. He is a masterless warrior driven by a forgotten, absolute code of justice. Underneath the slouched shoulders is a man who moves with terrifying, explosive speed and surgical precision.
As the tension between the cartel and the corrupt deputies reaches a boiling point, Garrett begins to pull the strings. He isn't there to negotiate. He isn't there to arrest anyone. He is there to orchestrate their mutual destruction, trapping two armies in a war they cannot win.
In a lawless frontier where money buys everything and human life is cheap, they are about to learn what happens when you cross a man who has nothing to lose-and a terrifying mastery of violence.
Welcome to the crossfire.
