Rohinton Mistry's Fiction: A Socio-Cultural Study

Rohinton Mistry is an important Indian English fiction writer. He is a Parsi writer of Indian Diaspora in Canada. There are two factors which entitle him to be called Indian writer in English and his works to be studied as Indian literature in English despite the fact that he migrated to Canada in 1975 much before the publication of his first book, a short story collection Tales from Firozsha Baag in 1987. The fact that Mistry being born, brought up and educated in India his novels and most of his short stories are thoroughly Indian in theme and language are, these factors which make him an Indian writer in English.
