Sexy, but not filthy...I recommend it

I've read at least 15 IR romance novels and this one is the best so far. The author has a real talent for putting the reader in the story. I was surprised that it was her first novel, and look forward to more from Ms. Holcomb. I've enjoyed many of the IR romance novels that I've read, but this one is so much more substantial. The story is about the connection between two people and not just an excuse to write about sex. Don't despair, the two leads do eventually have sex that is described with all the hot details, but it doesn't feel dirty. Having to wait for Bryan and Callie to get together physically made it so much better. I tingled when I read about their first intimate encounter. I'm still thinking about Bryan!!! If I met him in real life, I would surely melt into quivering puddle. I cannot remember reading about a fictional character who was so sexy! In fact, one of the hottest moments in the book was when he finally pursued their first kiss. A lot of readers were frustrated by Callie's lack of self/insecurities or whatever, but who says every character has to be totally likeable for the book to still be awesome? In life, we meet people who are annoying, indecisive, naive, etc, but their stories can still be interesting.

Wonderful Reading Experience

This was a well written novel. Bryan and Callie were such a contrast as lovers and their vast differences in background and lifestyle made for a most interesting and entertaining story. Generally in a story like this, you have the baddass alpha male versus the small time naive small time girl. Not here, both characters had strengths and vulnerabilities which made their attraction to and discovery of each other captivating. Unlike many IR novels, this one dealt with racism head on, both subtle and over. The couple had to deal with betrayal and sabatoge and their pain and reactions to numerous emotional assaults were vivid. The sensual parts of this book were magical and beautiful. Many writers go into overkill sexually to compensate for an underdeveloped story. Not here. The love and romance between Bryan and Callie were beautifully cutivated. This was a great story, I hope to see many more from Ms. Holcomb.

Absolutely loved this book!

I was riveted by the relationship between these two characters. I appreciated Callie's reservations and concerns. I loved Bryan's adoration for Callie. Maria made me laugh out loud!! Rock Star Love

I loved this book so much. I thought Brian and Callie just rocked as a couple. Brian was so tender with Callie and even when she doubted their relationship b/c of the outside world,he never strayed from her. I just wish that Callie wouldn't have let so many people interfer and almost ruin her relationship with Brian. If there's a guy out there like Brian,I hope he finds me...and soon. I can't wait to read future books by Holcomb. Hopefully,Tanya meets a great guy...maybe she'll get together with Harley...that would really be great.

Great Novel

This was one of the best written interracial romance novels I've ever read. I was astounded that the this was the first book this author has published. She takes two completely different characters and makes them fall in love. And I really mean they fall in love; you get to see their journey. Loved this book!!!
