This volume contains the acts of the international conference on thetheme of the Resurrection that was organized at the Faculty of Theology, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, in April 2010. The focus of the conferencewas on putting the resurrection in general and of Jesus specifically ina wider literary, cultural and hermeneutical context. This resulted in afourfold group of contributions. The first group presents theantecedents of resurrection in the Hebrew Bible. The second group is thelargest one and offers a panorama of the resurrection in the NewTestament (including the four Gospels, Pauline Literature, Apocalypse).The third part opens the research field towards the Jewish and EarlyChristian milieu while the last section contains three articles on thehistorical and hermeneutical questions. This volume containscontributions by scholars of both French and Anglo-Saxon background andis characterized by its broad perspective on the resurrection.
