Real World Programming in OS/2 covers essential but little known areas of programming which the software development kits and documentation largely ignore, or in which programming examples are poor.... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This was my second OS/2 programming book. It is very in-depth, and is not suited for new programmers writing graphical programs with C. While reading, I would read through the thick chapters, not understanding too much at times, while hoping to let it soak in.A good book to have in any case. Would recommend this to a beginner programmer who already has written some PM programs. It is tedious reading, but the APIs are well covered, from the Window (WM_***), Graphic (GPI_***), and Control (DOS_***) APIs. Although it is dated, I had no problems running the included programs on Warp 3 & 4 from the included diskette. I'm sure with enough repitition, this will add skills to any C programmer on the OS/2 (eCS) platform.
