Supporting an amazing mangaka

As an avid anime/manga fan, I've downloaded a lot of fan-subbed and fan-translated pieces and fell in love with Freefall Romance long before it was ever translated and published over here so I was more than happy to purchase a legal copy the moment I discovered they were available. The amazing thing about this manga is that it's so believable- it's not all sparkles and shojou conventions, their problems and misunderstandings and foibles are normal; real. It's an average, every day romance told in a very charming, refreshing way. I recommend it to everyone.

A pleasant surprise

Well I wasnt sure what to expect with this one because this was on sale ,and so I was pleasantly surprised. The story is not unique by all means but the way the story flowed and developed is very very well done. The exploration of feelings of the characters are in a way realistic.Starting out as partners in business to friendship and into romance with one realizing then accepting and the other not, well not yet. This mangakka could make this into a novel. I really enjoyed rereading this manga which rarely happens to me. Illustration wise,The guys are drawn as guys with short hair because they are "salary" men, thank you,Fujiyama san, for drawing it that way.Alot of the emotions are drawn out.The private parts are invicible in this one, basically drawn then erased. It does bother me a bit .Whats up with the censorship anyway. I like the size of the book and the easy to read fonts. Overall,This one is a keeper.:D

nice surprise

i was surprised at how good this book was. the setup, two co-workers who get drunk together and suddenly find themselves w/ feelings they've never had before, isn't new, but the story is deftly told and the artwork matches well. there are some nice new touches, inc. one of the worker's somewhat unique take on homophobia in that he doesn't mind it in other people but he can't accept that he could be gay. the awkwardness b/t the two is nicely captured, and the slow development to the inevitable conclusion is well-paced and very believable, although i can see how a casual reader not paying attention to or enjoying the details might find it to be too slow and repetitive. would be even better w/ more sex scenes, a bit more characterization, and a longer ending, but all in all this is def. one of the better yaoi i've read in a while and a must-have for anyone who likes salarymen yaoi.

One of the Best for Non-Traditional Yaoi Fans

I absolutely loved this one; the big brooding semes and small cute ukes have their place, but they've never really worked for me. This a graphic novel featuring two actual men, instead of one man and a man playing a woman's part in the romance. Such a thing is very rare in the world of yaoi. The relationship itself is far more realistic than any other I've read in a yaoi, with none of those moments where you're left to wonder what the hell is going on. The sex is actually pretty explicit, a little more so than FAKE and certainly enough to satisfy.

A believable romance. This mangaka explores her guys' feelings so well.

Tsutsumi works for a public relations company and Nanase a beer company. They have known each other for a year. They are so called business partners as they have been appointed by their firms to work on projects together and are also drinking buddies. One night Nanase has a bit too much to drink while mopping over his younger brother who has found a male lover while attending an all boys high school, whose majority students are gays. Nanase of course attended the same school years ago. The difference is that he managed to avoid all the advances and attention. Their relationship changes on that very night when Tsutsumi finds a drunken Nanase most sexy and alluring. Thereon their story is engaging, heartwarming, credible, bittersweet and amusing as Tsutsumi tries his best to convince Nanase of his love. Both Tsutsumi and Nanase are appealing and believable characters. They are your ordinary Joes who have their worlds turn upside down when they realize their attraction towards the other. While the confident and cool Tsutsumi readily accepts his "out-of-the closet" status, it is not so easy for Nanase who is stiff and unyielding on certain principles long entrenched. This mangaka's story telling skill is remarkable and I find myself reading most of the scenes again. Their "feeling each other out" in the men's toilet in a park and their one night rendezvous in a hotel room are sexy yet bitter sweet. Finally Nanase yielding to Tsutsume is as romantic as we wish in our Yaoi. This gay romance is realistically potrayed. I like this mangaka's artwork and her guys with their tall and more manly physique. This is my 3rd Yaoi from this mangaka and I have not been disappointed so far.
