Good read

You get two romances for the price of one in this book. The primary couple, Zakira and Malik, deal with the heavy issue of serious illness and the secondary couple - (Trekel and Edwina) romance is stalled by the first and the insecurities of Edwina. Its good to read a book about a marriage that has realism in it, there is more to marriage than good sex. The coupld have chemistry there is no doubt but can they communicate effectively? Read it and see

Pride and Consequence-A Joyfully Recommended Title!!

Malik and Zakira Badu were very much in love with each other and all was well within their marriage. That was until a devastating tragedy struck in the form of a deadly disease for Malik. Instead of having his wife by his side during his lowest, darkest moment, Malik allowed his stubbornness and pride to rule his thinking. He pushed Zakira away and walked out on their booming restaurant business. And then, when a miracle happened and Malik was cured, he wanted to reclaim the life he once shared with his beautiful wife. But Zakira wasn't having it. There was no way she was going to make things easy for Malik, especially after the cruel way that he treated her and robbed her of her grieving feelings that she wanted to share with her dying husband. Is this the end? Has too much happened for forgiveness to enter the picture? Pride and Consequence brought forth a magnitude of emotions from me and 99.9% of them were anger towards Malik. Yet, I could not put this book down until I read every last word. This alone begat a Joyfully Reviewed Recommended Read from me. I have never been in Zakira's situation; however, I can almost say without a doubt that I would not have put up with Malik's behavior for as long as she did. Zakira should have kicked him to the curb, especially when he refused to tell her what was going on with him. Nevertheless, with all that said, I felt sorry for Malik. He was thrown a hard curve ball with a great possibility of death on the horizon. With the alpha type of personality that he had, he dealt with the situation the only way he knew how. He thought he was making things easier for his wife; instead he only made things worse. I never once thought that he did not love Zakira. What a mess! Malik soon learned that actions from a stubborn pride produced hard consequences. It wasn't so simple to walk back into what was so easily thrown away - which was a great lesson learned. Pride and Consequence - Best yet for Ms Washington

Ms. Washington just keeps outdoing herself as each book just gets better. In Pride and Consequence, you have not just one passionate story but two. First you have Malik and Zakira, deeply in love and on their way to happy ever after when Malik falls victim to an illness. Malik lets pride and his protectiveness get in the way of love and common sense and leaves Zakira on her own to deal with everything. Realizing what matters most, he comes back into her life after his recovery. The sparks start to fly. Second you have Trekel and Eddie friend and family of Malik and Zakira. They find each other because of the relationships to Malik and Zakira, then lose and find each other again. Both of these stories make you mad, sad, laugh and most of all make you feel as you watch them all wade through their emotions and finally figure out what's important in life. This book should be on every ones best seller list, it is certainly on mine and 5 stars go to Ms. Washington

Great Love Story

Pride and Consequence was a wonderful love story full of passion and pride. Malik and Zakira have so much love for one another. But the love is tested when Malik falls ill and leaves Zakira to deal with the pain of his illness and the loss of Malik on her own. Malik's pride and selfishness is the fall of their beautiful love affair. In the background, there is another love story devloping between Trekel and Edwina. This love in tested as well becasue of Eddie's insecurities. In the end, they all find the happiness they so richly deserve. This story wil have you crying, laughing and cheering for the lovers to be together. I wish this could be a movie because it plays out like one.
