For most residents and fellows, having a volume that strikes a balance between a tome and a pocket handbook offers the chance of reading in depth without worrying about lugging twenty pounds and needing disk surgery. About the size of a hard cover SESAP book (if they came in hard cover), this book offers both leading edge data and useful how-to tips from top authors in the field. As books go, the fresher the publication date, the less literature searching one must do to top off on current information meaning now is the time to get this book (copywritten 1999). Make sure to read the contents before you buy as it may not suit your needs.
