Secrets Surround Shy Jane BontragerFull of faith, hope, and romance, this series takes you into the Heart of Amish country. Sweet, shy, and devoted Amish woman, Jane Bontrager secretly hates her childhood nickname of Plain Jane. She doesn't know who started the ugly name back in her school days, but she can never forget how it has long made her feel. Jane has a huge crush on Amish buggy maker Samuel Mast, but they are both so shy they are more likely to turn old and gray alone than to ever get together--especially since Samuel holds a secret or two of his own. What can bridge the gap between two young people who both deserve love and happiness? This is book eleven in The Heart of the Amish Series and although each can be read as a stand-alone they have characters that connect and they are so enjoyable and fun to read that you will not want to miss them. Jane has felt invisible most of her life because of a nickname she was given as a child. Meanwhile her secret admirer has secrets he carries around that hinder him. Add in adorable cats and best friends along with a newcomer to town and you have the makings of twists and turns that keep you turning pages to see what happens next. I feel like these characters and the bakery are a gathering place I would like to visit. This story develops well and shows how secrets cause harm to the person carrying them but also the person who they are about and hurts the people closest to them. I also took away that Jane needs to realize God sees her even when she feels plain and unseen. An enjoyable read that has deeper meaning.

PLAIN JANE'S SECRET ADMIRER (THE HEART OF THE AMISH)
By Anne Blackburne
Jane Bontrager's good friend Lizzie has recently married. The newlyweds are taking a wedding trip and leaving the running of Lizzie's bakery to Jane and another friend, Eliza King. Jane and Eliza have every confidence that they can keep the bakery going strong for Lizzie.
Jane is a shy woman, who is a caring and hard working person. She has always had a crush on Samuel Mast.
Samuel Mast is a shy buggy maker. He secretly harbor's an immense crush on Jane. The two of them each have such a problem with being super shy, they simply need to figure out how to act on their crushes.
Quote from the book that I like: The cats woke me with the zoomies.
I have known people who are super shy, it makes you wonder how they manage to get on in life with their shyness being such a gigantic issue.
This is a delightful story, filled with the ups and downs of negotiating busy Amish lives. Highly recommend.
