Great girl's adventure story...!

My 7 year old daughter was enthralled with this book. She loves to draw anime, so the cover attracted her attention initially. When she began reading the first chapter, she was immediately hooked. She couldn't put it down, and read it repeatedly. The real attraction for her is the 'girl hero', Yuri, and how she overcomes evil with good. She has begged me to order the rest of the series so she can continue reading...but, sadly, the next stories aren't out yet. We plan to order them just as soon as they're available.

A great girl adventure

My 10 year old daughter, who was not a great fan reading, loved this book! It was really the first "page-turner" for her. She couldn't put it down. I am trying to get the rest of the series. This book really opened the world of reading for her by convincing her that great adventures can happen in books. She loves manga and anime but never has been a huge pirate fan. I think it was the fast pace, the illustrations, and the high adventure that held her attention.

my daughter loved it

My 9 year old daughter loves this book! My daughter is a tomboy and is more interested in sports than reading so I was thrilled when she couldn't put this book down. When she first got it she was reading at the breakfast table and all the way to school. She read while walking all the way to her classroom. Even her teachers were amazed. That was 2 months ago and she's read it multiple times since then. It looks like there's another book in the series out -- I hope my daughter likes it as much!

A cute little story

I just finished reading this cute little story. What first drew my attention were the nicely created manga illustrations. From there, I started reading and discovered a story that may lack depth in this short children's fiction novel. I look forward to other books in this series.
