"God wants you to stab your spirit alive and have you wake up your potential. This book will give you the know-how to do it now." Mark Victor Hansen, Co-creator, #1 New York Times best selling series... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book pulled two things together that seemed necessary for me to get past blocks. I've read a LOT of material, both spiritual and self-help. The spiritual literature seems to demand a leap of faith that I am unwilling to give without more explanation. The self-help books often lack an aspect of faith that I hope to integrate into my plan for change. Personal Strength - Spiritual Joy strikes me as the perfect balance. It pulls the idea of faith into the practical idea that feelings are real, and they are to be honored. It allows us the right to exist, and at the same time gives down-to-earth ideas for getting through difficulties. I recommend this for anyone who wants practical suggestions for difficult times.
Coming Home

This is one of those rare books that is worth reading over and over. Now that I have done that, I will continue to refer to it, as a manual for finding my way out of the tangles I can construct. Before I am guided out, to Home, I always feel less alone as I read Jan Harrell's and Al Robins words. They are willing to share their own vulnerability, so completely, that I feel seen. They provide me with a path to My Self. What a gift they have given us. What a gift I gave My Self when I bought this book.
Beautiful, kind, wise look at personal growth

This book does something that is so needed in the field of self-help and personal growth: bring God (or the divine) into the conversation. The authors are skilled psychologists with many, many years of combined experience. So they write from a solid psychological foundation. They make great use of exercises and examples which beautifully illustrate the points they are trying to make. And through it all, they encourage us to remember that we are children of God, and thus how we might see ourselves with more loving eyes. It is so much easier to look at our 'foibles' and the things we'd like to change or things we are ashamed or scared of, if we can do it in a loving, compassionate manner. Al and Jan do this beautifully. Pick up this book. It has something for everyone. It will warm your heart, challenge your mind, and perhaps provide a balm to some of the wounded places inside you, and help you start healing them.
