Forty years ago during the Vietnam War, as a Navy SEAL team was executing a daring mission deep inside enemy territory, they watched a plane crash into the Cambodian jungle. Now, possessing new... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Within the first few pages readers will have the thought, "Oh...this is gonna be goooood!" and they will not be disappointed. I went through every emotion humanly possible. Evancoe does an incredible job of balancing true military terminology and dialect while still making the read accessible for civilians like me. I felt a true connection to Jake and the team and can't wait to dive into their next adventures in the other books!
Entertaining and accessible - A true adventure story!

With the large number of veterans leaving glowing reviews already, I'm writing to give potential buyers of Own the Night some feedback from the perspective of a 'non-military' reader. Own the Night is a fantastic read - Paul Evancoe delivers a fast-paced guy-targeted adventure story. With no sappy romantic elements or overly-in-depth descriptions of the functions of military hardware (just enough to get the job done), I found myself totally engrossed in this 'military fiction roller-coaster' of a book. The action sequences, environments and events in the story feel like a very authentic big-budget Hollywood movie. The characters are totally real and believable; between reads, I really wanted to know what was going to happen to those guys. And, for us non-military readers out there, Own the Night has a glossary in the back to explain most of those military abbreviations. Other esoteric elements that appear during the story are explained in a way that doesn't detract from the adventure and leaves the 'civilian' reader a little more educated. Great book, hope there's more Jake Boucher adventures soon!
Paul Evancoe's first novel, Own the Night, hooked me from the very beginning!!

As a visual learner I loved reading this novel because Paul Evancoe included great detail in every scene. I felt like I was a Navy Seal and in each adventure with the other Seal's. There wasn't a moment when I wasn't on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next! Paul Evancoe's background as a Navy Seal really brought the book to life. It was hard to put the book down! This is definitely a MUST READ!!!
Hot Damn- What a Ride!

The story grabs you from the git-go and leads you round about to the final page with barely enough time to catch your breath! The premise is fasinating, the action is pretty much non-stop, the characters are appealing- makes me ask what happens next, and could you hurry up and finish the follow-up?

The fast-paced action and narrative descriptions of personalities, places, and plot in CDR Paul Evancoe's exciting new military adventure novel OWN the NIGHT ring with the authority and authenticity of personal knowledge and experience. But they should! They are based on his extensive career both as a combat-seasoned Navy SEAL operator and National Nuclear Security expert. This is a very exciting and authentic book that weaves an intellectually engaging design. Robert G. Watkins, Jr. CDR, USN (ret)

Paul Evancoe's first novel is one helluva ride! Loosely based on some of his own combat stories, Evancoe has created an action packed adventure that kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. If you enjoy military and spec ops related fiction, this is the book to read!
