This is a story of the journey of one average recreational runner, the lessons he learned along the way and the impact running had on his life. Matt Wilbur is the product of the "Running Boom" of the late 1970s. He became a pretty good marathon runner with a personal best of 2:59:40. But his running took on a new purpose in 2002 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Matt uses his running, not only to help himself stay "One Step Ahead of Parkinson's Disease", but also to impact the lives of others. Matt is scheduled to run his fourth consecutive New York City Marathon on November 4, 2012. He continues to run to raise funds for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
