not the best

This is not the best book I have ever read but the illustrations save it. They are wonderful cut paper collages (one of my favorite styles). A look at the sights and sounds of nighttime all around the world (with a focus on evocative words which describe the sounds) including the meadow, the pond, the mountains, the prairie, the forest, the city, the desert, the sea, and the island. It's a decent book, and your child might really take to it, but check it out from the library before buying just in case.
