Before his murder, Professor Callahan hid a map to six ancient scrolls inside his seven-year-old daughter's stuffed bear. One fateful day, he and his wife were slain in their living room-while young Angela watch from the shadows. Shortly after, she was placed in a Jacksonville orphanage with nothing but her stuffed bear and a family photo.

During an outing with the other orphans, Angela was separated from her group and pursued by a band of men. At the same time, Nick West was in Jacksonville to meet Saldocka for a favor. Against his better judgment, Nick followed the chase-and when he saw the men meant to harm the girl, he intervened.
