GREAT examples of writing by Southern Women

The True South has produced some incredible Women Authors and most of them are represented here. Being a Southerner myself, I can completely relate to the locations as the cadence and the mind-sets that these women put on paper. A few highlights: Author Lee Smith (a personal fave) writes a story called "Heat Lightning" that captures the spirit and mood of a carnival moving into town. Stories by Ellen Gilchrist (she won the Pulitzer) and Jill McCorkle as well as Alice Walker are just some of the outstanding Women Southern Writers represented here. If you are a Southerner, or want to see it reflected by these very talented women, order this book.
