lucid,scholarly,revolutionary essays on pre-history

Mr. Greene has done an extraordinary job of re-visioning prehistory. This very readable collection of short essays on subjects ranging from cave paintings to Plato gives provocative interpretations exciting as the current spate of millennial UFO garbage while remaining grounded in current scientific research. I found the chapter "Prehistory" extraordinary; he reminds us of our vast ignorance about dawn of mankind. Witty, lucid, and well-researched, he aims at debunking academia's certainties. I teach a history of science class and regard this as a gem.
