Sophisticated romance

Sharp, lovely characters with excellent ties to Scots history. A big recommend, depsite its publication years.

My all time favorite

This is my all time favorite romance. Published in 1956, I like how the author Jan Cox Speas gives the Heroine a chance to be happy and make her own choices even though she does not realize it until the very end. Excellent read.

Loved it!

This is a wonderful romance to lose yourself in. If you love historical Scottish romances this is one of the best.

Very good novel.

Set in Scotland prior to the Restoration. Mature, thoughtful romance with a fresh twist on the star crossed lovers theme. Strong characters and well paced plot.
